Long-serving team members at a leading Tamworth veterinary practice are celebrating after reaching more than 80 years’ combined service.
Four colleagues at Linnaeus-owned Riversmeet Vets have marked significant anniversaries with the practice, having spent more than 20 years each working at the Lichfield Street surgery.

Veterinary surgeon Simon Paterson is now in his 26th year at Riversmeet, where he first started working when he was at school.
At that time, the practice was known as Steel-Bodger, Pegg and Sergeant, and Simon would help out at weekends. His work inspired him to train as a vet and, after qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College in 1998, he started work at Riversmeet before becoming a partner in 2001.
Meanwhile, registered veterinary nurse Fiona Wood has been at the practice for 22 years, with registered veterinary nurse Emma Fox and lead veterinary surgeon Pam Shaw both celebrating 20 years each at Riversmeet.
Fiona Wood has been part of the practice team since 2002 and is one of Riversmeet’s International Cat Care feline-friendly advocates.
Emma joined the team in 2005 and is a nurse clinical coach. She also leads Riversmeet’s successful weight clinics, which help dog owners with questions and advice on their pets’ weight-related health issues.
Meanwhile, veterinary surgeon Pam has worked at the Tamworth practice since October 2004. Her veterinary interest is in canine and feline medicine, cancer chemotherapy and general surgery.
Riversmeet lead veterinary surgeon Lewis Wescott said: “We’re over the moon to celebrate more than 80 years’ combined service with our four longest-serving team members.
“Riversmeet has been established in the community for more than 100 years and is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accredited small animal practice and a registered Veterinary Nurse Training Practice, meaning we not only have excellent facilities and medical standards but also foster a culture of learning, mentorship and exceptional care.
“Our dedicated team have formed lasting, long-term relationships with local pet owners and we are proud to be such a trusted part of our community.”
